As we mentioned in our Caramelised Apple Protein Muffin Recipe, our love for apples, (baked or not) is REAL. So what better way to eat them than with Protein French Toast!
This recipe uses our Cinnamon Apple Bread recipe.
2 slices Cinnamon Apple Bread
1 Small Gala Apple (cubed)
2 Tbsp Sweet Freedom Syrup
2 Egg Whites
2 Tbsp Almond Milk
1 Tbsp Cinnamon
1 Tsp Coconut Oil
Note: You will need a non-stick pan.
Whisk almond milk and egg whites together, pour into a bowl, dip your bread slices in there and leave to soak.
In a non stick pan on medium heat, fry up your soaked bread slices and then set aside.(Extra coconut oil optional at this point).
In a large non-stick pan, (you may use same one to avoid extra cleaning) heat up your coconut oil, add cubed apple pieces, sweet freedom and cinnamon.
On medium heat sauté the apple pieces until they are crispy golden brown. We prefer them very sautéed because they become more caramel-ly but, it is completely upto you how you prefer.
Remove from heat and sprinkle over French Toast.
Then, top with some Walden Farms Pancake syrup for a complete healthified #FOODPORN experience!
