Kale is a vegetable, which is majorly misunderstood, mainly because its flavor from raw to cooked, changes vastly. When raw, its taste is slightly sour… however grill them and you’ve got the bestest guilt-free ‘crisps’ youre ever going to taste! They taste great baked simple with salt, but if you’re craving something cheesy… try them like this!
Ingredients:
100g Prepared Kale
2 Tbsp Nutritional Yeast
1 Tsp Himalayan Salt
1 Tbsp Melted Coconut Oil*
*Can use Olive Oil if you prefer.
Directions:
Firstly, preheat oven to 160-180 degrees and line a baking tray with greaseproof paper.
In a large bowl, add your kale and drizzle salt and oil using your hands to mix thoroughly. Follow by adding yeast, again massaging it in with your hands. Pour onto prepared baking tray and spread evenly.
If Kale is bunched together and not spread evenly on tray, those bits will be undercooked with the pieces laying on top going crispy.
Bake in the oven for about 10-15minutes. They will crisp up fairly quickly, so be sure to keep checking, a minute too long and they could burn to a crisp. The perfect texture is when they have darkened in colour, slightly grilled on edges and crisp to the touch.
Pour in bowl or eat from tray, that is entirely up to you!
NB: Use garlic salt instead of normal salt to get garlic and cheesy flavour, also tastes just as good!
