Heart Protein Bars

Heart Protein Bar Header

We made this recipe a while back (in non heart shape form) but never had the time to upload the recipe which was our full intention! So, when Valentines came a knocking… we dusted off our cute little silicone mold’s and made them in adorable heart shapes. Get ready to impress your favourite human on the day of lurrrveeee because these are absolutely, 100%, flippin’ DELICIOUS!!

Ingredients:
4 Tbsp Water
3 Scoop Vitafiber Powder
75g Roasted Almond Butter
3 Scoops Complete Diet Whey in Strawberry*
125g Dark Chocolate
30g White Chocolate
1/2 Tsp Coconut Oil

*Reason i recommend this one is due to its texture, it keeps the mix really moist and flavoursome… however, you can definitely use ANY whey that you like for this.

Directions:
Begin by placing the silicone mold’s of choice in freezer, this will help the chocolate set quickly when pouring (and therefore making less mess).

Melt white chocolate in a bowl with 1/4 tsp coconut oil. We did it in microwave in 30 second intervals, checking each time until smooth. Take mold’s out of freezer and with a teaspoon, drizzle white chocolate over them with care but not necessarily in straight lines, do them as you prefer. Place gold’s back in freezer.

Chop up half of the dark chocolate and place in a glass bowl with 1/8 tsp coconut oil and melt in a microwave (approx 2 1/2 minutes total) or over a pan with boiling water. Remove mold’s from freezer and with a teaspoon again coat the base of the mold’s and place once again in freezer.

Now, for the filling…

Add water and vitafiber to a bowl (if doing in microwave) or saucepan and mix together with a whisk. If using microwave heat for 30 seconds and whisk, heat again if not dissolved. If using saucepan, heat the vita/water mix on medium heat and whisk until dissolved.

Fold in the almond butter, followed by whey protein until well combined. (Use your hands if you need to). Remove mold’s from freezer and distribute mix evenly between all of them, pressing down into it.

Melt the rest of chocolate just as before with the remaining bit of coconut oil and with a spoon pour over the top of the filling, smoothing out with the back of the spoon.

Place back in freezer one last time until hardened.

Benefits of Vitafiber:

  • Low caloric value
  • Reduced glycimec response
  • Satiety & bulking effects
  • Source of soluble dietary fibers
  • Helps prevent constipation

Not only that, it is a great sugar replacement, heat stable; making it great for baking with, excellent binding source and has pleasant sweet taste. We absolutely LOVE it and have created a ton of recipes with it, many of which feature in our new book.
