You know, sometimes you just NEED chocolate, you want nothing else BUT chocolate and chocolate alone will make you happy. Inevitably, you end up creating something like this! So, seeing as it is Chocolate Week this week (promise it is, not making it up) we thought we’d share this easy peasy recipe with you as a sneak preview of whats to come from our website! *yay*
Ingredients:
2 Egg Whites
2 Scoops Chocolate Whey*
125g Low Fat Fromage Frais (Or similar, not Fage Greek Yoghurt as it tends to be a lot drier.)
1/2 Pack The Musclebakery Skinny Bites (chopped)
1 Tsp Coconut Oil
*Its best you use a quality whey when cooking items like this, simply because cheaper wheys tend to taste less real and dry up your end product with little or no taste. You pay for what you get, so go for a brand like Musclepharm Combat or Efectiv Whey for this. The Milk Chocolate (like we used here) tastes divine and the Cookies N Cream….. incredible!
Directions:
In a measuring jug, add your egg whites and 1 scoop of chocolate whey, whisk it up fiercely (or else some powder will stick at the bottom). If you find the batter too dry, just add teeny amounts of water to make it the right consistency.
Heat up 1/2 Tsp of your coconut oil in a non-stick pan at medium – high heat, enough so the pancake doesn’t cook to quick. Then, pancake away. it will cook really quick so keep an eye out. It is, after all, made solely from egg and whey so it’ll dry up a lot if overcooked, even if only slightly.
Once that is done, leave to cool, and mix up your frosting. Add the remaining 1/2tsp of coconut oil (melted and hot), 1 scoop of whey and 125g of yoghurt. Mix it thoroughly until you get a nice thick dessert consistency. Layer it over your pancake once it has completely cooled followed by your chopped up Skinny Bites.
To bring your carbs /calories down omit the Skinny Bites and add something else. Half a grated square of dark chocolate is really low cal and will cover your whole pancake! Or even just some calorie free sauces! Get crazy!
This was a prep meal and kept overnight in fridge in perfect condition, so you can prepare it the night before for an awesome breakfast, which can technically feed 2 people… unless youre greedy! 😀
